I wore this Bar III dress for New Year’s Eve a few weeks ago. It was a Christmas present, and I knew it would be perfect to ring in 2014. I went to a dueling piano bar in Kentucky, but ended up spending most of the night at the event in the next room over (thank God for connecting hallways). The main ballroom was huge and the Rusty Griswolds, a big band in Cincinnati, were performing. Even the drinks were nicer in this room. It was magical.
Most of my friends ended up on stage with the band, but due to my robotic dance moves I opted to stay on the dance floor where I blended in with the crowd. Overall, it was a successful night, even though I keep forgetting it’s 2014 for some reason. In previous years, I’ve worn dresses that I love, but that aren’t the most comfortable. This year felt a little more laid back, so this dress worked out perfectly. The A-Line shape was forgiving, and I love yellow. A spray tan was essential if I wanted to pull off yellow in the winter. Unfortunately, these pictures were taken this past weekend, which is why my legs are translucent in the picture below.
The bead and sequin detailing on the chest is even prettier in person!
