I cannot tell you how excited I am about today’s outfit! Also, I apologize for the amount of pictures, but I just hard a hard time narrowing it down today. When I unwrapped this ASOS faux fur coat on Christmas morning, I think I let out a little scream. My mom and I had looked at tons of coats like this online, and I tried to make it known I wanted one for Christmas. I wasn’t sure if I was getting one, but held out hope that “Santa” would pull through.
I know, I know, this coat is a little polarizing. I’ve already mentally prepared myself for the jokes that will come from guys and random strangers. I happen to think it’s fabulous, and wearing it makes me instantly want to put on layers of jewelry and drink champagne. That’s something I could easily do without the help of a large furry coat, but it’s an added bonus. I already have one fan of it: my dog Oscar. I wore it out the other night, and when I got home and picked him up, he basically started moaning and fell asleep in my arms. My heart melted, to say the least.
This patent leather blush purse from Kate Spade was another Christmas gift. Seriously, Santa killed it in the gift department this year. It came with a crossbody strap, which is perfect for someone with major back problems like myself.
How gorgeous is this dainty gold ring?! It’s from Libby, a super cute boutique in Over-the-Rhine. The store has a little bit of everything: clothes, gifts, accessories, etc. My favorite part? The incredible jewelry selection! I don’t need to explain my love for jewelry, as it’s discussed frequently here, but I was seriously impressed with Libby’s huge offering. It’s basically a jewelry lovers’ paradise. If you live in Cincinnati, or happen to pass through town, you need to check it out! I’d say sorry in advance for any damage to your wallet, but the prices are extremely affordable, meaning you can treat yourself and not feel guilty! *Win win* 😉
I’ve already worn this ring a few times, and have gotten tons of compliments on it. It’s one of those things you don’t want to take off.
My tips for wearing a faux fur coat? Keep the rest of the outfit as simple as possible. To offset the bulk of the coat, wear fitted bottoms to show off your legs and balance out the top. Accessorize with a sparkly necklace over the coat to brighten it up a bit and add some glamour.
