I didn’t post anything yesterday, because I was traveling back from my short weekend trip to Cleveland! I got into to Cleveland around 7 Saturday night, and left Monday afternoon to drive home. My boyfriend ran the Cleveland Marathon Sunday, so I was there to show my support. Unfortunately, I missed his finish by one minute while I was trying to find a good view of the finish line. Not only did I miss him finish the race, but I proceeded to stand in my location for a good twenty minutes before I checked the results on my phone and discovered that he was already done. We have terrible timing in this arena. This same scenario happened at the Flying Pig Marathon last year. It was all good in the end, because he got 54th place in the entire marathon!
Does anyone remember the movie Zenon: Girl of the 21st Century (also known as one of the greatest Disney Channel movies of all time)? If you didn’t grow up in the 90s/early 200s, then feel free to skip this paragraph. If you religiously watched this made-for-TV movie series like I did (remember the sequels Zenon: The Zequel and the disappointing third installment Zenon: Z3?), then you probably dreamed of having Zenon’s incredible futuristic wardrobe. The girl could color-block like no other, and somehow made Lycra look appealing. Throughout the movie, she wears a holographic disk earring that turns out to be a major part of the storyline. Anyway, whenever I see iridescent jewelry, my mind instantly goes back to one of my favorite childhood movies.
Because it’s 2015, I wanted to share some modern day takes on a futuristic style. I think people sometimes worry that the holographic look can be a little out there, but jewelry is the easiest way to wear it! If you’re shopping this iridescent style, I’d recommend checking out Kendra Scott and Loren Hope. I rounded up my favorites from the two designers, which I think shows a nice variety of ways to wear this style. I’ve been obsessing over Loren Hope’s earrings for way too long now, and think it’s finally time to get a pair. How gorgeous are the Mirabel’s?!
