I flock to colorful pieces of clothing like a moth to light, so this striped midi skirt from Kenzo is probably the most unsurprising but exciting addition to my closet in recent months.
I’ve been trying to cut back on shopping and shop more from my closet, but browsing my favorite fashion sites is somewhat therapeutic for me (and also very dangerous when I come across something I love). I really make a conscious decision now when I purchase something, but sometimes you come across a piece of clothing that just speaks to you and you “add to cart” quicker than you ever have before.
It started as an innocent browse on Revolve’s new arrivals page when this Kenzo rainbow striped midi skirt was seemingly sent from fashion heaven. It’s a bit of a splurge piece, but I knew I’d have instant regret the second it sold out. I checked out in record time, and because Revolve is amazing it arrived on my doorstep two days later (seriously, Revolve has the best shipping out there!).
This striped midi skirt is a knitted skirt, so it almost feels like you’re wearing a really comfy and colorful sweater. Because it’s knitted there’s a tiny bit of stretch to it, but I’d say it’s very form fitting in the waist area.
This striped skirt came right in time for the Dress For Success Fashion Show in September, and I ended up wearing this exact outfit to the event. I never used to be big on midi skirts, but this striped midi skirt is so fun and colorful that it adds some life to the sometimes difficult to wear silhouette. Although it’s slowly but surely getting cooler outside, I’m hoping I can extend this skirt’s wear well into winter. Since it’s knitted, it feels like a year-long material and I’m envisioning pairing a fitted black turtleneck or sweater with this when it really gets cold.
