Although it was a rainy weekend, I can’t complain because the temperature was in the mid 60s on Saturday! I enjoyed the few times it snowed this winter, but I have to admit, I’m ready for spring. It doesn’t help that I’ve been browsing my favorite clothing websites (several times a day) eagerly searching for fresh spring fashion. For me, once New Years is over, winter needs to be over as well. I was excited on this particular day to not have to pile on the layers and bundle up.
Button-down shirts are such a great piece to transition from day to night, so I opted for a gingham pattern. Side note: is it me or does my shirt look like a J.Crew gingham? I got it at Forever 21 a few years ago, so I’d say this was a pretty good find. Anyway, I made a casual outfit a little dressier by adding a glitter J.Crew belt and (one of) my favorite J.Crew bracelet(s).
My Tory Burch flats go perfectly with the gingham and glitzy accessories, and are another piece that can make the transition from day to night. I got to test the “day to night” look because running errands with my mom during the day turned into us stumbling upon a random wine bar on the other side of town. We were going to “get a drink”, but one drink quickly turned into a few drinks and dinner!

Love this! I think the gingham shirt definitely looks more expensive than it is and it’s always exciting to find pieces that are J. Crew-esque for half the price…or 1/4 the price in some cases.
