Oscars 2013: Best Dressed

This awards season has been an impressive one for fashion. It seems that well-dressed stars have far outnumbered the questionable choices of years past. Like I’ve done every year for as long as I can remember, I settled into my couch on Sunday and turned on E! to see the stars hit the red carpet. I was amazed at the number of gorgeous dresses this year. Sure, not everyone knocked it out of the park, but I really can’t think of any major disappointments!

I knew my pick for best dressed the second I saw this actress/dress on the red carpet. Kerry Washington and her coral Miu Miu gown literally blew me away the second they appeared on my TV screen. I loved everything about it, from the detailed beaded top to the bow belt that showed off her petite figure. Maybe it’s the coral that drew me to Washington’s dress. I am eagerly awaiting spring after all, and this was a gorgeous reminder that I need to add some coral to my wardrobe, stat. I also loved that Washington went with something a little more fun than we’re used to seeing at the Oscars. The eye-catching color palette made Washington’s Miu Miu gown one to remember. She kept her jewelry simple (a ring and stud earrings), which was smart as to not distract from the intricate beading on her corset top.

Do you agree with my pick for best dressed at the Oscars? Who wore your favorite gown this year?
