Green With Envy

This year marks my first St. Patrick’s Day post college. This probably sounds insignificant, but where I went to school St. Patrick’s Day is a major holiday. People do bar crawls the night before, (some) rest for a few hours, and then everyone wakes up before the sun rises to start celebrating. During the celebration, the entire student neighborhood is a sea of green. I’m talking head-to-toe green outfits. In college, when you’re celebrating a holiday that consists of heavy beer drinking, people obviously aren’t too concerned with making a fashion statement. In fact, the only fashion statement being made on this day is that most people simply do not care how crazy they look as long as they have a drink in their hand.

I’ve always been the kind of person who has to have on makeup and/or jewelry at all times when I’m out in public. This also includes days where the majority of people could care less about their appearance (e.g. St. Patrick’s Day). In my own words, I always want to look “cute”. Celebrating holidays in college always put me in quite the pickle when I wanted to look “cute”. For St. Patrick’s Day, I was usually limited to a green bow in my hair and a pair of emerald studs. Everyone was wearing oversized green jerseys after all, so I couldn’t be that girl wearing a dress.

Although I’m sad to be done with that chapter, I am excited to dress as “cute” as I want to for this year’s celebration! Luckily, green is having a major moment right now, thanks to Pantone’s color of the year being emerald! In honor of this festive holiday, I found some of my favorite green pieces that are sure to make people green with envy!

Love this green..actually I love almost all the jewel tone colors…they’re just so pretty. I’m not supposed to be shopping but I’m lusting over those green bangles. Gorgeous!
