When most people think of red and yellow together, their first thought is probably of ketchup and mustard. Although I’m a big fan of both of these condiments (I’ve been known to eat ketchup and mustard sandwiches), my favorite way to pair these two colors is in my wardrobe. I’ve always felt like red and yellow together gives off a retro vibe, which I love! The second I put on this yellow dress, I knew some red accents would add some instant pizzaz to the look. If you’re like me and don’t have a lot of red accessories, a red lip is a quick and simple fix. Also, some red nail polish can really make your nails pop against a yellow ensemble.
As much as I love dresses, especially in the summer, I’ve started to realize that they can be hard to switch up after each wear. That’s where I think adding some pops of color to a dress can help create a new look each time you wear it. I know that sounds like common sense, but it’s something I’ve never really thought about until recently! In the past, I had a predetermined set of accessories (purses, jewelry) for each dress I owned, but blogging has encouraged me to experiment more.
How do you switch up your look when you wear a dress?

Thank you, Marija! I love the lace detail as well!
I love this look! And I definitely agree that it’s a challenge to get out your predetermined outfits, but once you do, it’s so refreshing!
Thank you! I agree that it’s refreshing to change up your outfits so you’re not redundant. It makes you look at your outfits differently, instead of just playing it safe!
I like the color combitation. i love dresses also, but they are indeed a bit more difficult to switch up, than if you have separate pieces.
Thank you, Sonja! It has definitely been a struggle to switch up my dress looks, but I like the challenge!
Eeeeek my favorite color… LOVE this! Did I mention I LOVE this?! Too cute!

Thank you, Oprah! Lightweight dresses in the summer are the best! PS- love your gravatar picture!
*tearsofjoy* 🙂 🙂 thank you, i will be sure to get more dresses this summer 🙂
So I love dresses but agree that they can be hard to change up. Usually I try to wear mine as dresses or tops but unfortunately it’s hard to do that with every dress.
I’ve been wanting to experiment with trying to wear it as a skirt, but I totally agree it can be so hard! I feel like I never have the perfect dress to test it out!
Beautiful dress and pictures! I do love the red accent, it adds more color to the outfit.
