High Waisted

I’m usually not one to gravitate toward high waisted shorts, but this Bar III pair drew me in the second I walked by them. The thin chevron stripes were a fun twist that you don’t usually find in shorts, and I was excited to style them. While this is the only pair of high waisted shorts I own (for now), I’ve grown to appreciate them for their endless possibilities. If you want the shorts to be the main focal point of an outfit, tuck your top in. Or, you can downplay the shorts (and hide the fact that they’re high waisted) by wearing a flowy top that stays untucked. One pair of shorts, two completely different looks!

Bar III High Waisted Chevron Shorts

I wore this out last weekend for a night at the bars. We ended up at an outdoor bar, so I was relieved that I had on an outfit that wasn’t weighing me down! My hair, on the other hand, was not so lucky. If you can’t tell from pictures, I have extremely thick hair, which has a natural wave/curl to it. The humidity and large crowds of people did not do my hair any favors that night!

I don’t own anything high waisted, I think mainly because my legs are so long to begin with I try not to make them look even longer lol. Love these on you though! The print is fantastic!

Thanks Jen! You do have long legs, which is nice because you don’t have to do anything to elongate them! Thankfully there’s heels for those of us whose aren’t as long 🙂

these shorts are great! i’m not usually a fan either (especially with the jean shorts that are in now), but these are very flattering.
