Happy first day of August! I seriously do not know where the summer has gone. It seems like just yesterday it was the beginning of May, and now we’re getting into our last few weeks of white denim season (if you haven’t noticed, I live for white jeans in the summer). Up until this week however, the summer has been so hot that I haven’t had the chance to rock my favorite bottoms. I’m thinking I might need to start following that “winter white” trend to make up for lost time :).
I wore this chambray-clad outfit to work yesterday. I had previously never thought to pair a pencil skirt with a chambray button down, but I ended up really liking the combination! It’s very “business on the bottom, relaxed on the top”. I would usually opt for a dressier button down shirt, but the weather has been a few degrees cooler and I wanted to wear something a little less structured to stay comfortable. My J.Crew chambray shirt is honestly so soft that I always jump at the chance to wear it! My other work-related blouses have some serious competition now!
*Please ignore the massive wrinkles in my skirt. I took these pictures after a long day of sitting at my desk, making for some unfortunately large and unattractive wrinkles.
Shirt: J.Crew (similar on sale) | Skirt: Ann Taylor (on sale!) | Shoes: Tory Burch (love this pair)| Watch: La Mer Collections | Necklace: Forever 21 (similar) | Nails: Essie ‘Mod Square’
You look lovely!
Check out my blog and if you like it follow!
Lot’s of love!
Thank you!
I had the exact same wrinkles in my skirt from Ann Taylor too! But honestly, you really can’t tell- I think it looks great!
Thank you! I didn’t realize it was so wrinkled until after I took the pictures! I’m glad I’m not the only one with this problem!
Cute! I’ve been meaning to invest in a Jcrew chambray shirt 🙂
Thanks! You definitely should, I wear mine ALL the time!
So pretty Olivia! I love the denim and color combo. Hopefully the weather will cool a bit for you.
Thank you, Grace! It’s been overcast all week, which is kind of nice!
Love this look, doll! The bright skirt + chambray is perfect.
Thanks for swinging by the blog- keep in touch! 🙂

Thanks, Ashley! Loved finding your blog yesterday!
I have a love/hate relationship with skirts that do that, they are so cute but it can be very frustrating. On another note, I promise you can’t really tell all that much:) You look great and I am loving the orange on you!

Haha that’s good to know! I think we always think things look worse than they actually are. And thank you, I think orange is a good color for us dark haired girls!
This combo is one of my favs! It is pretty and sophisticated and perfect for work!
Thank you, Christy! I really like how the orange and chambray ended up looking good together!
Love the pop of color you added with your skirt! As for the wrinkles, don’t you just hate that sometimes? Seriously I’ve sat for less then 5 minutes in one of my favorite hot pink dresses and it’s already had wrinkles in it 🙁 arg! You look gorg as always!

Pearls & Lace
Thanks, Jen! That’s the worst, especially when you only sit down for a few minutes! I think I need to invest in a traveling steamer or something, if that even exists!
looking fabulous 🙂
Thank you!
