Red, White & Blue

I hadn’t even realized when I put this outfit on that it had a red, white, and blue theme! Now that I think about it though, it’s perfect timing since Labor Day is rapidly approaching. My goal this week is to get as much use as possible out of my summer whites. I only wore my white jeans a handful of times this summer, which is a depressing thought for someone who’s slightly obsessed with white denim. Maybe I’ll test out the winter white trend this year to make up for lost time!

Another realization is that this entire outfit is from J.Crew. I wish I could say this is the first time that’s happened!

Thanks, Cara! Haha I’ve been starting to wear white past Labor Day the last few years. My mom has always been a firm believer that you don’t wear white after that day, so I was raised with that mentality!

I was just realizing that I haven’t worn my favorite white pants and shorts (J. Crew, of course) nearly enough this summer too! I think it might be time to do a copy cat version of this outfit this week, although I may end up swapping out the red blazer for a red belt since Texas is still just a bit too hot for that yet.
And I am still totally gaga over those pave link bracelets, I guess I’ll finally have to give in and get one for myself! 😉

Isn’t it the worst when you realize that at the end of the summer? I honestly don’t know what I wore all summer that caused my whites to be abandoned in my closet, but now I’m stressing about it! You should definitely get the bracelet! I got mine for Christmas, and have worn it every weekend since then. It’s nice because it looks great alone or with a bunch of other bangles, too!

Perfectly Patriotic!! I was also raised with the “Absolutely no white after Labor Day” rule too but once I moved to California I threw it out the window.. It has be very freeing..haha!

Thank you! Yeah my mom has always reminded me of that rule, but I feel like most people don’t follow it anymore! I’m sure people all over California do it, so that’s nice! I would love to have your weather in the winter so I wouldn’t look like Casper in white pants!

This outfit is right up my ally! I might have to borrow this look 🙂 You are probably the same way, but if I dress up for a holiday, I don’t want to look too overdone and your outfit hit the mark! Love it.

Thanks, Meret! I agree, I like to wear holiday colors, but don’t want to look like I’m trying too hard! I definitely wasn’t trying too hard here, because I didn’t even notice the color scheme until I started writing this post 🙂
