I can’t believe it’s already December! These months seem to be flying by faster than usual. As you know, Pantone just came out with the color for 2014: radiant orchid. The color is gorgeous, but in my opinion, doesn’t compare to emerald, 2013s color. It would probably help to confess that I’m biased when it comes to this deep green hue. Being a May baby, it’s my birthstone, so I’ve kind of loved it my whole life. Also, my eyes are green, so the color is pretty high on my list. When Pantone announced emerald as the color for 2013 last year, I was ecstatic. I love the regal, rich feeling it gives off, especially when it comes to jewelry!
With that being said, I currently only own one piece of emerald jewelry. It’s a necklace with an emerald stone my grandma gave me when I was little. I added this gorgeous Baublebar necklace to my Christmas list, and think it would be perfect paired with a black top or dress. I also included this gorgeous pair of teardrop earrings by Blu Bijoux. Do you ever have those moments where you can picture something perfectly in your head, and then discover it’s impossible to find it anywhere? This happens to me all the time, especially with clothes. Well, I’ve had one of those scenarios for about a year. The culprit? Emerald teardrop earrings. Kate Spade had the cutest pair, but those sold out before I decided I wanted (/needed) them. I was considering throwing in the towel on my imaginary earrings when I found this $22 pair last night. YES, $22. The price alone is screaming “buy me”!
So, for my last bauble wish list of 2013, I’m paying one last tribute to emerald. After all, it’s all radiant orchid from here!

So pretty! I’m not sure about orchid. It’s definitely pretty but I have to admit, I don’t think I’ve ever worn it. I’m excited to see what pieces come out, though! I’m sure there will be way too many gorgeous pieces to choose from.
Thanks Grace! Honestly, I’m not either. I don’t have anything in the color, and am not sure how it would look on me. That’s why I loved emerald so much this year! Hopefully we can find some good orchid pieces for 2014!
I’ve always love emerald! So many are afraid to wear it that when you see it, it stands out and shines!
Me too! I think a lot of people think it looks too old, but I love it!
I love emeralds, so pretty! 🙂 x
