Rediscovering old pieces in my closet is the most exhilarating feeling. Sometimes I feel like I’m exploring in a new boutique when I dig in the back of my closet. I love the excitement of finding something you had totally forgotten about, and that amazing feeling when you put it on and it still fits! Unfortunately, I don’t always have success in the fit department, but when I do it’s a big moment.

I got this Kensie dress my freshman year of college at one of my favorite local boutiques, Kismet. I had shopped at this boutique since early on in high school, and developed a Kensie obsession. The brand is girly, with a little bit of quirk. I still have a soft spot for Kensie in my heart, and always browse their selection at Macy’s and Dillard’s to this day.

On a totally random note, I got a little starstruck yesterday (even though I didn’t even see a celebrity). Cate Blanchett and Rooney Mara are in town filming the movie “Carol”, and they randomly happened to be filming ON MY STREET yesterday! We live on a big hill on a pretty secluded road, surrounded by woods. My brother came home and said there was a police officer blocking traffic at the bottom of our driveway. The cop said Cate Blanchett’s movie was being filmed until later that night. My mom and I freaked out and screamed like little girls, and then proceeded to put on gym shoes and walk around our hill to creep on the movie set below. We could barely see anything, and then tried to devise a plan to sneak through the woods to get close to the set. As I’m typing this, I realize how creepy this sounds, but I promise it isn’t. It’s not too often a movie is filmed literal feet from your house. We ended up getting a happy ending, though. As we were pulling down our drive to go to dinner, there were about six old school buggies (for the movie) blocking our driveway. I pulled out my paparazzi/creeper skills and snapped some pics! I couldn’t see inside the cars, but I have a hunch Cate and Rooney were in there somewhere ;).

Such a great dress. It’s so versatile too, you can dress it up or down with shoes and accessories, getting lots of different looks. Love the fit on you too. Well done!
