What a whirlwind the past few days have been! My boyfriend was in town over the weekend, which is why I didn’t post anything yesterday. He was here to celebrate my (early) birthday, and also to run the Flying Pig Marathon! He ran the half last year, but this was his first full marathon. Not surprisingly, he did amazing. Also not surprising: I missed seeing him finish while I was running around like an idiot trying to get a good view of said finish line. I actually had just climbed around 200 steps to overlook the end of the race, only to have him call me right when I climbed the top. My life.
To celebrate, we went to brunch, where I enjoyed a mimosa and banana’s foster French toast. You would think I was the run who ran the marathon, since I came home and passed out immediately after. As much as I’m a diehard bruncher, I can pretty much guarantee that I’m going to have an unproductive day afterward. Sitting in the sun drinking really sucks the energy out of me, but boy is it amazing in the moment.
I titled today’s post “Something New” because this is the first time I’ve ever worn my hair up on here. Sounds pretty weird, I know, but I’m a girl who has a routine and sticks to it. Growing up, I lived in ponytails. After high school, it was all about wearing my hair down. I don’t know why but I just feel more attractive when my hair is down. I’m trying to be more adventurous though, so this is me taking baby steps to get there!

Thanks girl! I’m trying to force myself to do new hair styles!
You look wonderful!
Thank you Iva!
I really like your hair up! It is so hard to break out of the norm but I always try to push myself past my comfort zone too. I think it’s so pretty how you pulled out strands to frame your face. And I love the background and carefree poses for this outfit! You look great Olivia!
Thanks Grace! Even though I’m so busy with work, I’m trying to find time to take pictures at new locations! It makes a world of difference 🙂
LOVE this! It’s really hard to try and make my hair look different since it’s always just so curly. Your hair looks super great up though, I love the little strands out.
Thank you Alissa! I love your hair! It’s so true that we always want the hair we don’t have. When I was little I hated my thick hair, but now that I’m older I appreciate it so much more!
BB, your hair looks so great up!! You could so totally rock a low fish-tail braid! I also love the peter pan collar on your top. I may need to order it for myself 😉 great post xx
Thanks Meret! I need to learn how to fishtail braid because that would be cute! Yes, you should totally order the top- it’s only $25!!!

Thanks Cara! We try to do fun things since we only see each other once a month.
I LOVE your hair like this! Will come in super handy once summer sets in and things heat up!
I’m a lover of all things brunch, as well- but you’re right, it totally zaps your energy level for the rest of the day! 🙂

First thought was how much I LOVE your hair up like this Olivia. I agree though it can be a little weird to try something new, this is a fab baby step! My vote is for a bun next! 😉
Thank you so much Rochelle!! I am SO self-conscious when I wear a ponytail, but I’m trying to make myself do it! I’ll try to work up the courage for a bun! 😉
The collared shirt is so cute!
Thanks girl! It was like $25 I believe! 😉

Nice
Thanks!
Cute collar, and your hair looks great! Yes, brunches are delicious but definitely kills productivity for the rest of the day. 😛 The french toast sounds scrumptious!
Thanks Stephanie! I love them, but have to take like a three hour nap after! Tough life 😉
