As much as I love color, I’ve always gravitated toward an all-black ensemble. My closet would easily be a sea of black if I didn’t make a conscious effort to incorporate bright, bold pieces into it. During the summertime, I’m all about the color, but as the temperatures cool down I’m always reaching for my black staples. If you’ve followed me from the beginning, you’ll know I have a soft spot for this faux leather pleated skirt. I think I even wore it in one of my first outfit posts! This ASOS collared top is a newer addition to the black section of my closet, but it’s getting plenty of attention as well. I don’t think I’ve ever gotten any compliments on it when I’ve worn it out, but I love it. In fact, I even got harassed by a drunk man over the weekend because it seemed to bother him so much.
On my way to dinner Friday, I walked past a guy standing outside at a bar who kept calling my mom and I “sister” as we walked by. A little confusing, but we ignored him and kept walking. After dinner, the man apparently had not left the bar, and then screamed “the nun is back” as we walked by. I then realized he was talking about me and this black top I had on. Apparently he needed to keep talking so then started yelling “hello Sister” multiple times. I guess I was dressed a little too conservative for him, which is fine because the only person I’m trying to impress is myself! Didn’t intend on getting deep there, but I can’t stand when people make unnecessary comments on people’s outfits.
Earlier in the night, I attended Cincy Chic’s Champagne & Shoes event at PNC downtown. Myself and some local fashion bloggers judged the “Chicest Shoes Of All” contest, which awarded the attendee with the best shoes a large prize pack. It was really fun seeing so many different types of shoes, and how they were styled. I noticed a theme with most of my favorite shoes: strappy black shoes with a glamorous twist. I can’t stop thinking about them! The shoe judging was followed by a fun fashion show with clothes from the Pink Tulip Club. Oh, and one of the best parts of the night? The Ménage à Trois Prosecco samples that were being handed out. It was some of the best Prosecco I’ve had!

A nun? Absolutely not, only class and chic!
Thank you!
Hello !, (sorry for my english…i’m french) . I’m a man and if sometime i can drink a little bit 😉 i can say that your outfit is very class ! the top with the leather skirt is very chic. Don’t change anything because it’s perfect !
First of all, you DO NOT look like a nun. Home boy at the bar needs to CHECK HIMSELF before he gets checked.
Secondly, I love love love black and white- especially in the cooler months. I’m all about neutrals lately for fall!

What a crazy guy! There is nothing nun-like about this outfit and I think it’s very cute and classy! Here’s to more black in our wardrobes because you can never have enough 😉
Haha thank you Grace! I usually let that stuff slide, but it bothered me this time for some reason! Yes, you can never have enough black, especially for fall and winter!
