Tied With A Bow

Alexandra Grecco Luna Bow Dress

Words cannot describe how long I’ve been waiting to wear this Alexandra Grecco dress. I only bought it two years ago! I was browsing her site one night, and came across this gorgeous dress available for pre-order. With some encouragement from my mom, I pulled the trigger and anxiously checked the mail every day until it arrived. It was like Christmas morning when it arrived, but I wore it for the first time last weekend. Yes, I kept a beautiful, bow-tied dress sit in a dark closet for two years. It was worth the wait when I finally got to wear it to my friend’s wedding over the weekend.

The Luna dress ended up being the perfect outfit for a dressy wedding weekend. Because this dress is such a stunner on its own, I didn’t want to overwhelm it with other accessories. First, I got a much-needed spray tan. When it’s the middle of April and you live in Ohio, it’s the only way to get a quick dose of color. I did encounter one problem when trying my dress back on after a long hiatus. There was a little bit of extra material that I needed to get rid of. Unfortunately, the seamstress I use was completely booked, so I had to get crafty.

I was going to be really ambitious and make my own beaded ribbon belt to match my dress. Once that goal seemed completely out of reach, I got lucky and found the perfect belt at Anthropologie. Seriously, I can’t believe I found a color that perfectly matched my beige dress, and on such short notice. It was fate.

Gianni Bini Sparkly Heels

These Gianni Bini sparkly heels have really come in handy, which I never thought would happen. I thought these would be those pair of shoes you wear one time a year, but they went perfectly with my dress. It’s kind of crazy how easily everything came together. I tend to think about my outfits really far in advance, so it was nice that all my pieces worked with each other to complement my dress.

I injected some color into my look through my nails and lips. I know it’s a little wild, but I’ve been really into fuchsia lately. This Kat Von D lipstick in the shade ‘L.U.V.’ has been getting a lot of wear lately. Plus, it stays on all day!
