Although it’s still summer and this is my absolute favorite time of year, I have to admit that I always get excited about fall fashion.

Looking ahead to fall fashion also always gets me nostalgic about back to school style, despite the fact I’ve been out of school for a few years now. That’s why I was thrilled when this month’s blog post with Liberty Center was centered around “Back To School”. If you’ve missed my other Liberty Center posts, you can read them here!

There was always such an excitement shopping for a back to school wardrobe because let’s face it: who doesn’t want to start the year off in style? I grew up going to private school, which meant I wore a uniform from first grade through senior year of high school. When I went to college and got to wear whatever I wanted it was exciting but also a bit overwhelming at first! It’s no surprise I like to dress up, so I liked putting some thought into my daily outfits. There were a few occasions where I was almost late to class because I spent so much time analyzing what I was going to wear that day. I eventually got the hang of it, and even though most of my peers took the more casual route, I still liked to look put together while being comfortable. I’m also someone who feels more confident and motivated when I’m dressed nicely, so for me, it goes hand in hand!

Liberty Center has a ton of great shops for back to school fashion, and the hardest part was narrowing it down to just one outfit. Dillard’s is one of my favorite places to shop at Liberty Center because the store is so big and gorgeous. I always find myself spending a solid hour in there perusing all the different departments.

Lucky Brand Cahill Dress Flats

I headed to the shoe department first and tried on around six different pairs. Sidenote: I found the perfect pair of booties after a five-year long search. I fell in love with these Lucky Brand Cahill Dress Flats and knew I wanted to style a back to school outfit around them. They are incredibly comfortable but make your look sophisticated and thought out.

Next, I headed to pick out the clothes (where I always joyfully spend a lot of my time at Dillard’s). I tried on a bunch of pieces, but something about this Free People mini denim skirt just spoke to me. I’ve tried on many a denim skirt over the years and could never find one I liked. This option fits like a glove and I love the shade of blue!

From there, I opted for a classic white button down shirt from American Eagle. I wanted this outfit to look polished but casual enough for a look that’s great for class. To finish off the look, I added a pop of color in my Coach Bowery crossbody bag. This was another purchase from the Liberty Center Dillard’s, and I’ve worn it a ton this summer. The color is fun and it really jazzes up any look. Plus, there’s a cheeky little dinosaur chain on it, which I love!

Love this! The denim skirt matched with the gorgeous kelly green bag and the fresh, crisp white blouse.

I am not the biggest fan of summer, Olivia. I just can’t deal with the heat. My favorite season is fall, and I’m so looking for all the fall fashions to come. However, your outfit is totally on point. I’m loving the skirt, I just love the color! I also love the shoes, they look so comfortable and perfect to walk around in. Thank you for sharing this post!
