New York City and about half of the country seem to be in a never-ending arctic tundra. The “feels like” temperature is -3 degrees as I write this. I’m over it, as I’m sure you are as well.

Fashion-wise, the only dopamine hit I’ve been getting lately is when I put on my coat. That sounded sadder than I intended. I try to still keep my style fun and colorful in the winter, but this year has been particularly brutal. Coats are really doing all the heavy lifting from January to March, and we thank you, coats, for your service.

In the spirit of good coats, I rounded up some stunning options that offer all the dopamine. Being warm and stylish are two things I very much enjoy, and these coats look to achieve both.

As a lover of the color green, I recently realized that most of my coats are in various shades of green. I have other colorful coats in Cincinnati, but in a small New York City apartment, an edited selection is sadly a necessity. Don’t tell my coats back home, but I think I could make some space in the closet for any of the options in this post.

So many people take cool pictures on the subway and platforms. This was my attempt, and I’m glad I documented this outfit. This was the very start of January. I have not dressed up like this since. My outfits have been purely practical lately to trudge through the mounds of frozen snow and grey sidewalk slush.

I look forward to the inevitable melt that has to happen soon. It has to be soon, right? I just checked the forecast, and “soon” looks like it may be March at this rate. Well, at least I have a cute coat?
