Brown Leather Skirt

MM Couture Brown Faux Leather Skirt

I feel like I’ve been slacking on posting lately, but my reason is pretty justifiable. The sun is down by 5:30!!! It’s hard to get my frustration across in writing, but this time change has been a serious pain for my blog. I’m sure you can all relate, but I have yet to find a good solution. I took these in three different areas around my house because I was losing light by the second. To say I’m unhappy with how dark these are is an understatement. Right now, the only answer I can think of is taking multiple outfit pictures over the weekend. Rant over.

I sound like a broken record when I talk about my love for leather. If leather were a person, it would be my best friend. I mean, I have a “leather section” in my closet reserved for my pants, skirts, shorts, and leather trench. My leather tops would probably be in the same designated section if I weren’t a firm believer in keeping my tops and bottoms separated. Anyway, I’ve been on the hunt for a brown (faux) leather skirt for about three years now. It all started when I came across a three-tiered brown leather skirt online. I can’t really explain it, but it was gorgeous. Since I’m not really an impulsive shopper, I thought it over for a long time and eventually forget to go back and buy it. Since then, I’ve searched high and low. Luckily my search was over a few weeks ago when I found this MM Couture beauty at Dillard’s! It was simple and inexpensive without looking cheap. Of course, these two criteria help me justify any purchase.

Also, this Gap turtleneck is the comfiest. I grew up wearing turtlenecks, but ever since high school they were taking up some major space in my dresser. I ultimately gave them to Goodwill, and of course now regret it. I couldn’t resist the options at Gap. If you’re in the market for a new turtleneck, their’s are the best!

*Sizing notes: I sized up for the skirt. My regular size was a little too snug and very short. The next size up instantly made it work appropriate! For the turtleneck, I did the opposite and sized down. These are meant to have a loose fit, but my regular size was a little too relaxed!

Yes to the leather skirt! I bet it would look great with brown boots. And good to know about Gap’s turtlenecks. A black turtleneck seems like a necessity today and I was like you and got rid of all of mine a few years back. Shame.

Yayyy, you KNOW my love for leather, so I’m digging this. 🙂

Re: the clairisonic; I totally think it’s worth it. You can find similar brushes at more affordable prices too, now that the market has figured the tech out. I find that my skin is super soft + more radiant if I use the brush a few times a week.

    Happy Thursday, gorgeous!

You looks amazing! And I agree gap anything are usually very comfortable something about their brand aesthetic. I’ve been looking for turtle necks lately seems like I am right on time as I see them appearing from time to time with various trends. You look lovely in these pictures, I definately can relate, when you said sun going down by the second it is so crazy true! The other day I was trying to snap some pictures afterwork because I was able to leave at 4 and not 4:30 like normal, I rushed home grapped my camera and tripod got a few pics in and before I knew it it was so dark. The multiple shots on the weekend is going to be a must for me which is also frustrating because sometimes those take a lot of work. :/

Thank you! Yes, Gap has the most amazing sweaters! I bought a few recently, and I can’t take them off! Yeah, this getting dark so early thing is so hard. I was just starting my blog this time last year, so now that I take outfit pictures all the time I’m realizing how tough it is! Good luck with your pictures!

Love the beautiful rich colour of your ankle boots! I like the light in these shots – it looks crisp and cold and quite lovely. Frustrating when you’d like to take more photos, though!

That leather skirt looks great on you! Yes, it’s such a bummer about the early sunsets. I’ve seen some great outfit photos taken indoors, but the lighting can be tricky. Enjoy your weekend!

I love that you sized up for the skirt because like you say you made it wearable . The sizing up is great advice:)

Tight Fitted leather skirts look sooo trashy.
