Is anyone else loving this 90s resurgence that’s been going on lately? I’m a product of 1990, and love any excuse to talk about the greatest decade ever. If we’re being honest, I still have times where I spend a lazy weekend watching my old favorite Nickelodeon shows. Let’s not talk about how Netflix recently removed Hey Arnold! from its selection. It’s a sore subject. As awesome as kids shows were in the 90s, let’s face it: some of the fashion was not. I think I had enough scrunchies to open up my own business. In addition to my statement hair accessories, I also had a not-so-subtle obsession with body glitter (along with every other girl in America). Bath and Body Works roll-on eye glitter was my bestie back in the day, and I’m convinced I wore it well. How do I know this? Because Beyonce once complimented my eye glitter at a mall meet and greet when she was in Destiny’s Child, and it’s still one of my favorite stories to tell (this is 100% a true story).
Although we left much of the fashion behind in the 90s, some trends are making a fashionable comeback. To me, there’s nothing more chic than a choker right now. I’m not talking those stretchy ones we all had multiple colors of back in the day. These modern day versions are ornate and eye-catching. They aren’t the finishing touch to an outfit, but the centerpiece to build a great outfit around. What are your thoughts on this current choker trend?

I love them! Some of these statement chokers are gorgeous! And it’s amazing how much they spruce up a plain outfit. I love your Beyonce story – hilarious and awesome. I bet you were beyond excited.
Thank you Grace! Haha it was amazing. It’s so random and the fact that we talked about my eye glitter is just hilarious to me for some reason.
I completely agree, I’m so glad 90s chokers are back! (Although, confession: I have been wearing my old stretchy one recently and loving it!) Kudos on the Beyoncé love! x
If I looked cute in the 90s ones or still had them, I’d be wearing them with you! I bet you look great in them!
I have a short neck so I am kind of paranoid about chokers since they draw attention to my neck. That being said, I have seen some necklaces that I really love and am sooo willing to risk it for.
I bet the necklaces look gorgeous on you! Jewelry is definitely worth the risk 😉
These are all so gorgeous but don’t laugh I can’t wear chokers because like fitted turtlenecks I find myself getting slightly claustrophobic… weird I know! I will just have to live vicariously through you!
xx Cara
Oh, I won’t laugh because I didn’t wear turtlenecks for years because it made me feel so trapped! Also, as a child, I would go into a rage when I had to wear jeans because of the claustrophobia. Thankfully, the no-jean policy ended or I’d be screwed!
I love the look of chokers but find them uncomfortable so I never wear them. 😛 I’m really particular about scarves and turtlenecks too. That YSL choker is gorgeous!
I don’t like them too tight, but I do love the fitted look!
