As I mentioned earlier, I went on my annual family vacation last week to Captiva Island, Florida. I was planning on posting throughout last week, but once you’re actually on vacation you realize it’s kind of nice (and necessary) to unplug for awhile. We’ve been vacationing in Captiva since I was little, so it was good to go back after a few year hiatus. If you’ve never been, Captiva Island and Sanibel Island are just outside of Ft. Myers, Florida, and I highly recommend making a trip to this quiet little getaway! My family actually drove because my brother doesn’t like to fly. Yes, it’s around a 16 hour drive. Not my idea of fun! We’ve made this drive before, but now that my brother and I are both technically “adults” this was easily the most rough road trip. Once you’re a fully grown human, you just don’t have the space in the car that you had when you were little.
It was so nice to lay at the beach every day and do literally nothing. My family shares a love for Dos Equis, so there were plenty of those in the cooler. I got extra fancy one day and had a champagne split on the beach! I was so excited to bring this dress along on our trip. I actually got it at the end of high school at Kismet, a local boutique. Even after all these years, it continues to be one of my favorite dresses I own! I’ve never worn it on the blog, so I thought a trip to the beach was the perfect excuse!
