Simple Stripes

Ann Taylor Striped Shirt with Collar

Happy November! There are things I’m loving and hating about the time change. Things I love: the extra sleep, feeling a little more energized when I wake up in the morning. Things I don’t love: the fact that it’s dark so early and it’s impossible to take pictures! I think people with blogs might be the only ones who aren’t fans of falling back, and I’m one of them. You’d think since this is my third go around, I’d have some secret trick mastered. No. I’m still the procrastinating, frazzled person I was back in 2012. If anything, I’m more crazed now, which means it’s dark by the time my day is winding down. Oh well, I’ll find a way to navigate the blogging struggles.

I wanted to share some Halloween pictures, but that would have required me to take pictures, which I sadly failed to do. I had my costume all planned out, and the dress I ordered from ASOS still hasn’t come! Yes, it’s well past Halloween, and the dress has yet to arrive. Not too happy with ASOS right now. I got a heads up email from them two days before Halloween, so I ordered a last minute dress from Zappos. It came Friday afternoon, and let’s just say it’s not what I expected (I’m trying to be positive here). Luckily I get to make my own work schedule, because I had to pull a costume out of nowhere at 1 pm the day of Halloween. I ended up being a gum ball machine, which was seriously so cute! I can’t believe it came to life within hours, and ended up being one of my favorite costumes ever! Unfortunately, it was such a hectic day, that I didn’t really take pictures. I do have a few mirror shots (complete with bad lighting), so I’ll try to get those on here soon.

Now onto today’s outfit. I am a SUCKER for any top with a collar. I think it mixes menswear-inspired and femininity so well. Plus, it looks like you put in more effort than you actually have (at least that’s the case for me). One of my favorite things about collared shirts though, is how they can be worn virtually every season of the year.

Wow I’ll take an Audrey Hepburn compliment any day! 😉 thanks girl! Yes, I’m struggling with the pictures! You’d think we’d be seasoned vets by now, but I’m the complete opposite.

Love that shirt! Seriously so cute. I love the gum ball machine costume! It sounds so cute. I went to get ready for Halloween and realized the shirt for my “Where’s Waldo?” costume was missing. I was devastated! Luckily my boyfriend had a shirt that worked perfectly.
