Did you have a good Memorial Day weekend? I unfortunately did not, but I did take advantage of the long weekend to try and recover from my seasonal allergy bout. While I was scrolling through my social media feeds and seeing everyone live outdoors, I was bedridden with a box of tissues by my side. I also took a trip to the emergency room Saturday night because I’ve been in so much pain. Let’s just say my usually favorite month has not been so good to me this year. But enough on my illnesses…
Today’s blog post makes me want to burst out in song, specifically a rendition of “My Favorite Things” by Julie Andrews. These pictures are showcasing a few of my recent favorite things. First up, this Miss Selfridge dress. My mom got it for me as a birthday present, and I feel like it’s me to a T. It’s kind of hard to tell in these pictures, but the sleeves are sheer lace. And the entire construction is so dainty and feminine. The high neck also gives it a very Victorian vibe, which I love.
I unfortunately didn’t get any pictures of the back of the dress. It’s an open back, giving it a bit of a sexy vibe.
Another new favorite? This insanely gorgeous flower mural. It was created by artist Cody Gunningham, and it’s easily the best looking mural right now in Cincinnati. You can’t help but smile when you see the colors. I have a hunch it’s going to become the most Instagrammed wall in the city this summer.
I’ve gotten used to people looking at me when I take pictures for my blog, but it never ceases to amaze me how many people happen to come out of the woodwork once we start shooting. It’ll be nice and quiet when we get somewhere, and then out of nowhere it’s the center of all the action. This was the case on this day. It’s always humorous looking at pictures that didn’t make the final cut. You can totally see me rolling my eyes or looking annoyed/uncomfortable at the few people who seem to persistently stare. Those might have to be reserved for their own special blog post someday…
