I don’t know how I’m just now sharing this dress, but it’s easily been my most worn piece of clothing this winter. It’s Ralph Lauren, and I’ve never been more in love with a dress that’s so proper and buttoned up. I have a major attraction to anything with a collar, and if I didn’t have self-control my entire closet would probably be filled with collared clothes. I love the polished look they give off, and especially love when something has a contrast collar (like this dress).

I know this style isn’t exactly sexy, but that’s not always the look I’m going for. There’s something about this dress that makes me feel really confident when I put it on. I can’t really explain why, but it feels good. Since the look can be a little harsh with all the black, I think it’s essential to accessorize. Brooches are my go-to as of late, especially this heart-shaped one that belonged to my grandma. Not only do they add a little sparkle, but I think they can make your look a lot more fun and playful.

These pictures were taken a few weeks back during a huge snowstorm we had. Luckily, the snow is long gone (for now), and I’m hoping it’s for good. Is anyone else dreaming of spring fashion like I am? I went to the mall over the weekend, and had to hold myself back from getting a little wild with my credit card. There’s a lot of good stuff out there, and it’s taking everything in my power to not buy it. We’ll see how long that willpower lasts!

Beautiful! I think I understand why you love this dress so much – it’s so classy! Love the brooch too. I was wondering about the snow in these photos – glad to read that it was an old storm and not a current one 🙂
