I’m finally sharing a new outfit post on here after quite some time without one! I’ve experienced five winters during my blogging career, and this one has by far been the most brutal. Attempting to take pictures during most of the month of January would have guaranteed a case of frostbite, and chances are low you’ll find me leaving the house if the temperature hits below freezing.
Fortunately, it warmed up a ton this past weekend and it was only necessary to celebrate by ditching the heavy layers (if only for a day)! I’ve added so many great pieces to my wardrobe in recent months but haven’t had the chance to share them. Luckily the weather was absolutely gorgeous yesterday, so I took advantage by dressing a bit lighter for my open house.
My most exciting somewhat recent purchase is the Strathberry nano tote in the shade ‘Vanilla’. I discovered the Strathberry brand around summertime last year and instantly fell in love with the simple, timeless designs of their handbags. I’ve been in major need of some new handbags and have spent the better part of a year looking for the “right” one. I’m not really into handbags of the moment because trends come and go so fast and pretty soon you have a bag that everyone else has that will eventually surpass its time in the spotlight. I also have a pretty strong aversion to a lot of unnecessary hardware on bags. As I’ve gotten older I really appreciate a piece that’s high-quality, elegant and timeless.
I was beginning to give up hope when I came across Strathberry online. I probably spent a good hour gushing over their entire selection! I knew these were just the bags I needed in my life, and my next decision became about what color to get. If I could, I would honestly get every single bag in every color offered. I ultimately ended up going with the Strathberry nano tote in Vanilla because it’s sleek and chic. It’s barely off-white but can pass with pieces that are true white or cream. I was nervous about keeping it clean, but now that I have it I don’t see it being a problem. The nano tote has four small pieces of hardware on the bottom for your bag to rest on when put down. Also, the firm structure of the bag will make it easy to spot clean if any minor accidents ever happen. I truly cannot say enough good things about Strathberry! If you are considering purchasing a new handbag these are worth every penny and you can rest easy knowing this will be in your wardrobe forever!
A few other new pieces I’m wearing here are this tailored navy blazer and these black and white checkered pants. I absolutely love a tailored look and have been wearing them for years on my blog. It’s amazing how a blazer can elevate your whole look and make you feel like a badass businesswoman at the same time. When I bought this blazer I was convinced it was black and only realized it was navy when I got home and read the tag, but it’s such a dark navy that you can easily get away with pairing it with black pieces.
One of my favorite aspects of this entire outfit is this bike brooch. It’s vintage and belonged to my mom but she let me have it and I’m finally taking it for a spin. It’s a delicate piece but also is quite the statement maker!
Hi Olivia,
I loved your bicycle brooch so much that I featured it on my blog. Great styling as always 🙂
