We’ve been back from Captiva Island for about a month now, but I’m missing the beach! Don’t you love how different your fashion choices are when you’re on vacation? It’s a lot more laid back and relaxed so you can experiment and pretty much style yourself however you’d like.
Ever since I became a one-piece swimsuit convert I try to maximize their wear as much as possible. Most of the time when we’re on vacation we spend all day at the beach, but our most recent trip to Captiva involved some more activities, which was nice to do something a little different. On any typical beach vacation, you’re walking to and from the ocean and maybe grabbing a drink or meal at a beachy restaurant.
While I love a good swimsuit cover-up it’s also nice to switch it up. I also am pretty picky about my cover-up purchases because I hate anything with too much fabric or that feels too heavy in the heat. I’ve recently become a big fan of throwing on a skirt or shorts as my sole “cover-up” and I love it! It’s quick, easy and lightweight. I’ve been purchasing only one piece swimsuits as of late so it actually looks like a cute outfit instead of swimwear.
Solid and Striped One-Piece Swimsuit
I got this swimsuit earlier this year and couldn’t wait to wear it on our trip. The green and white stripes mixed with the ruffled collar are both details that instantly won me over. Side note: I have another swimsuit by Solid and Striped and have found them to run a tad small so I’d size up!
I bought this Free People denim skirt on a whim last summer and never imagined I’d wear it as much as I do. It zips up the back and has some nice stretch to it so it’s perfect if you’re going to a beachside bar or restaurant and want to be ocean-ready but cute.
The real stunner of this look is, of course, this grapefruit slice bag from Bando! It also doubles as a cooler which is pretty cool! This is another item I’ve used a ton this summer and has held up really nicely!
