Bold in Blue

Dressy Winter Outfit with Pop of Color

Do you ever have those days when you’re trying to take an outfit picture, and everything seems to go wrong? This was one of those days for me. I’m pretty sure I was in a wind tunnel the whole time, and it was so windy that my hair eventually felt like hay. Yes, hay. Am I painting a pretty enough picture yet? Then I get home to upload my computers, only to realize half of them have terrible shadows. It just wasn’t my day! Luckily, a picture doesn’t always tell the full story, which in my case is a good thing.

Nonetheless, I still enjoy today’s outfit, and it’s probably going to be recycled real soon. I like to be comfortable at work since I’m always on the go. I’ve talked in the past about pencil skirts not being my best friend. Yes, I do own pencil skirts, but I try to avoid them at all costs. I’m not a big cold weather girl, but there are a few perks when it comes to the fashion. Since I don’t like the confinement of a pencil skirt, I tend to go for a length slightly shorter than a pencil length. This can be a little questionable for a work environment, so the ability (and need) to add tights this time of year is a lifesaver! That way, I can have the movement of a shorter hem, but still look office-appropriate at the same time. Win win! This Tiffany blue skirt was a Gap purchase last year, and is incredibly comfortable. It’s come in handy for those times I need to remind myself to add a pop of color to my monochromatic outfits. I’m also wearing the polkadot stockings again. At least I gave fair warning that they’d be popping up a lot on here ;).

100%. I ALWAYS have those days! Having a toddler in tow complicates photo sessions, but it also makes it kind of fun (sometimes)! Your photos turned out LOVELY! Seriously, love them and that skirt!

Obsessed with turquoise- its one of my favourite colours 🙂 Despite the outfit photo struggles, the pics still look lovely 🙂

Those stockings are adorable! And I’m loving the blue skirt with the black top. I hate when the weather doesn’t cooperate for pictures – sometimes it takes 3x as long to shoot an outfit because of the wind. I totally understand your pain!
