Week in Review

I swear I thought it was Friday like three different days this week. It was pretty cold and dreary the first half of the week, but I kept thinking the weekend was starting early the last couple of days. I think because it finally warmed up and actually felt like summer, so it made me antsy to get the weekend going.

It’s Bunbury this weekend, and I had been dying to go for months. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find anyone who wanted to go, and I’m not at the stage where I feel comfortable attending social events alone (does anyone ever get to this point?), so I won’t be attending. It pains me to say that, because I’ve desperately wanted to see Walk the Moon live for years. They are from Cincinnati, after all! I’m not going to lie, it really sucks not living in the same city as the person you’re dating. My boyfriend was so excited when I told him the Bunbury lineup, but realized he had already booked a flight home to St. Louis this weekend. Cue the sadness.

I’m trying to find the silver lining, though, and I think I’ve found it in the form of a swimming pool. I realized since I don’t have any plans this weekend, that opens me up for lounging by the pool and working on my tan (it’s dire) before I go on vacation this summer.

Hope everyone has a good weekend!

1. I’m going to give a little promotion here, because it’s something that I’ve watched transform since the very beginning. If you’re in Cincinnati (or the neighboring states), I highly recommend checking out the brand new Warsaw Federal Incline Theater. It opened this week with The Producers, and I got to see the opening show. I’ve never seen The Producers, so I was dying laughing the entire time. I do a lot of business in the Incline District, so it’s nice to see a new landmark attract people from all over.

2. Since Piperlime shut down at the end of April, I’ve been looking for something to fill the void. I loved browsing and shopping on the site, and loved that I felt like I was discovering an amazing piece each time I visited. I’ve always loved ASOS, but recently realized how much time I’ve been spending on the site lately. Although I’ll always have a soft spot for Piperlime, ASOS has helped to ease the pain. This dress, for example, is me in a nutshell. The colors and embellishments are so fun for summer, especially a vacation!

3. I think we can all agree that easy drinks are the best drinks, which is why this lemon drop shot caught my eye. I love that these look really complex since they’re in lemon slices, but take minimal time. Why not impress your friends this weekend?
