Despite bell sleeves being the thing of the moment, my affinity for the flirty and feminine sleeve has been around for my entire adult life. Some of my favorite pieces in my closet over the years have been bell sleeve tops, and I don’t think that’s going to change anytime soon.
Joe and I didn’t really do much shopping while we were in Seattle last month, but we did stop by the Nordstrom flagship store (you pretty much have to, right?). As you can imagine, the store is massive and gorgeous, and it took a ton of willpower to not buy everything in sight.
One thing I did end up purchasing was this white Topshop bell sleeve top. It has a black scalloped trim along the neckline, and the entire thing was just so feminine that I felt like I had to buy it. Plus, it was only $40! I was not expecting that reasonable price, especially for how thick and well-made this top is.
I also bought the Sam Edelman heels I’m wearing in today’s post while at the Seattle Nordstrom. Is it me or is it extremely hard to find a good pair of black heels? I’m pretty hard on my shoes, so I’ve gone through my fair share of black pumps over the years. The only pair I’ve had in recent years though are my black Mary-Jane heels that I wear all the time (and in 90% of my blog posts). As much as I’d love to wear those on a daily basis, I also want to have them for years to come, so I’ve been on the hunt for a simple black pair.
I begrudgingly drug Joe to the shoe department, where I immediately laid eyes on these. They’re so simple, but they were exactly what I’ve been looking for. They’re sleek, classic and have more of a matte finish. It always feels like a small but mighty victory when you find the perfect pair of shoes!

Thank you Annie!
Plus, it has a tiny delicate little bow – you know that swayed your decision! 😉 I’ve seen you mention a few times that you are hard on your shoes – what specifically do you mean by that?
Definitely! I just wear my shoes all the time when I should probably save some of them for nicer occasions, and I’m not very gentle on them so they get “lived in” pretty quickly.
Great outfit! Those shoes look so amazing. Are you wearing them with stockings?
Thank you! Nope, no stockings
We are both wearing TopShop sweaters today! I feel in love with yours but when I went to buy it, they were out of my size! Utterly darling on you though and I think you rock this!
The Adored Life
That’s a bummer Alissa!! I love it, but it is a bit cropped, which I’m not totally used to.
