My favorite month of the year is finally here! Is anyone else obsessed with May like I am? Sure, I might be a bit biased because it’s my birthday month, but this time of year is just the best in my opinion. The weather is changing for the better, everything is in major bloom and there’s just a general excitement in the air about getting to spend more time outdoors.
While they say that April showers bring May flowers, this May has gotten off to a rainy start. As much as I love the warm, sunny weather I must admit that I also love those stormy days when I don’t have to leave the house.
Since there are days where I do have to venture out in the rain, I always rely on my Hunter boots. Ladies, I think we can all agree that Hunter boots make a rainy day a little brighter. I have a pink pair that I bought years ago, but the black gloss wellies have always been on my wish list. I bought this pair before our Seattle trip a few months ago and I’m in love. Not only are Hunter boots the cutest rainboot option out there, but they’re also the best quality.

In terms of how to style Hunter boots, there’s really a ton of possibilities. Obviously, the black boots go with pretty much everything, but since it’s spring I wanted to pair them with a skirt. The gingham shirt adds a fun preppy element and a denim jacket is the perfect spring layering piece.

Oh Olivia I just love your outfit, you look gorgeous wearing your shiny black Wellies with a Skirt, they complement each other perfectly, I slip my legs into my Wellingtons at the slightest hint of rain especially when going to work, I hate getting my Nylon Stockings splashed and there are plenty of hunky Guys only too willing to pull them off for me.
Thank you so much for this lovely post.

Oh I LOVE this on you! I am so sad because my Wellies are too slim for my calves right now! One of my goals is to get back into them so I can look rainy day chic like you do!

Thanks so much, Alissa! Can’t wait to see how you style yours!
Are they comfortable to walk in for long distances – like a couple miles on possibly uneven terrain? I have an upcoming trip, and I’m thinking I might want to invest in some rain boots.
Tabitha, I think so! I can’t say I’ve walked miles at a time in mine, but the distance I have walked was not bad. These are extremely well-made and easy to navigate in. I’m wearing the “tall” version, but they do make a style that hits mid-calf. Those might be a bit more practical for long treks! I would highly recommend the Hunter brand though!
