I was never big on the midi dress look, but my feelings on them have softened over time. I first sported one on the blog last summer, and this yellow striped midi is the second one in my seemingly growing collection.

I mentioned Tuesday how I went on a bit of a shopping spree at Dillard’s recently, and this midi dress was part of the splurge. When I tried it on I instantly fell in love with it because the fit was so nice. My problem with midi dresses was always that they didn’t seem to flatter the figure at all. I love that this one is ruched at the waist, creating some shape rather than just being a flowy long dress. It’s also more form-fitting in the chest area, which I think gives it a nice feminine feel. I bought it around three weeks ago, and I believe I’ve worn it four times already. My mom has even taken it for a spin, so I’d say it’s getting quite the wear!

It’s also a great travel dress. I like to look somewhat put together when I fly, so this would be perfect with a denim jacket. I brought it to Florida with me a few weeks ago, and it was such an easy dress to pack and wear.

I also need to confess the obsession I have with this J.McLaughlin wicker purse. My mom got it for me as a birthday present after telling her how in love with it I was. I truly have not been able to put it down since I got it. It is perfect! The shape of it is really feminine, and I love how structured it is. I tend to prefer classic and simple bags, so the bamboo top handle was just what I was looking for. Wicker bags are everywhere right now, so you might want to snag this one before it sells out!

On a side note, has anyone else been totally off with their days this week? I know we’ve had a shorter work week (hallelujah), but I thought it was Thursday for like two days this week! Luckily it’s actually here, but I’ve been totally out of whack these past few days. Luckily the days are much more bearable now that it’s warm out and the days are longer. I seriously can’t express how much better my mood is when the weather is nice!
