Anthropologie Beret | Banana Republic Bow Blouse (similar) | Urban Outfitters Pleated Leather Skirt (similar) | Sam Edelman Heels
I’ve been wanting to buy a beret for a couple years now, but I was kind of worried it would look totally ridiculous on me. I hate having fashion regrets though, so this summer I decided to pounce on the first one I saw online.
I came across this beige beret on the Anthropologie site and decided to take the hat plunge. Once it arrived in the mail, I tried it on and instantly fell in love. Too bad it was the middle of summer! Confession: there were definitely random moments throughout July and August where I’d put the beret on and stare at it in the mirror. It’s just such a fun and feminine piece and instantly makes you feel like you’re in Paris! I think we can all agree that French-inspired fashion is the best, so I’m on board with any way to channel my inner Francophile!
Although it’s officially fall now, it’s been insanely hot as of late. Fortunately, I took these pictures a few weeks back on a day that didn’t hit 90 degrees. One of the reasons I’m loving berets so much is that you can dress them up or down. For today’s look, I went the dressier route by wearing a bow blouse, pleated leather skirt, and black pumps.
Another confession: after galavanting in front of my mirror in this beige beret over the summer, I decided to buy a red one as well. I absolutely love a red lip, and when I think of a beret, the first color that comes to mind is a red one. I’m sure that will be making a blog appearance soon!
This week is shaping up to be a little quieter than the rest of September has been. I’m not complaining though because all of the events I’ve had going on this month have been fun and exciting opportunities. I spent my entire Sunday laying in bed watching football and Sex and the City (quite the range) recharging my batteries. This past weekend alone was one for the record books. I got to check out a new (and gorgeous) jewelry store in Oakley, helped set up/attend a lobster bake benefitting an awesome inner-city youth orchestra, co-hosted an event at Nordstrom and attended the Cincinnati Food + Wine Classic for the first time. Recaps of everything to come!
