When I was in college my drink choices were as follows: beer or a gin and tonic. My dad has always ordered Tanqueray and tonics my whole life, so that’s what I started drinking in college. Admittedly, I’ve also always appreciated a Bud Light. It’s a classic and I don’t care what anyone says. It’s good! Anyway, today’s cocktail is all about gin, but a more elevated spin and with a touch of sweetness.
This is a sparkling gin and honey cocktail, also known as a Bee’s Knees, and I think it’s a great drink for this transitional time of year. I personally am hanging onto every second of summer, but I seem to be in the minority every time fall is around the corner.
The second I decided to make this cocktail I knew these earrings from J.Crew would make a good pairing. I believe I bought them a year or two ago and the bright mix of colors instantly caught my eye. You don’t typically see warm and cool hues mixed together with jewelry so I thought these would really pop with any outfit. Plus, the yellow gems at the top evoke that perfect honey color, so you’re on theme while sipping this Bee’s Knees cocktail! I’ve accumulated a nice little collection of J.Crew earrings over the years so I’ll have to share more in the future. Their jewelry has always been a favorite because you can find pieces that perfectly mix classic and fun.
