These pictures are the result of those moments when the sun is setting, and you’re racing to get some shots in before it sets. I’ve really been cutting it close lately! Luckily the sun held out for a few extra minutes for me, and I was able to get some subtle shots of the Cincinnati skyline in the background. Summer has come back with a vengeance, so I’m taking full advantage. That means wearing my Gap denim shorts as much as possible, and finding any excuse to pair it with my strappy heels.
I don’t have any weekend plans, but my fingers are crossed that I’ll be putting the finishing touches on my bedroom at my new place. I was supposed to be moved in a month ago, but I came face-to-face with the world’s largest cockroach, and things haven’t been the same since. One late night, I had set up my brand new mattress, complete with brand new pillows, sheets and bedspread. Since it was a “school night” (I still refer to weeknights as school nights), I was too lazy to discard my empty popcorn bag. I set it on the ground, and settled into my new bed. Within minutes of me enjoying the fluffiness of my amazing new pillows, I heard a clawing noise and turned on the lights (this noise will forever haunt me). Sure enough, there was a massive critter in the bag of popcorn. I trapped him under a paint can, and immediately drove home at 1 a.m. Yes, I am a baby, but I’m slowly trying to get the courage back to sleep there. This reaffirms how grateful I am to live in the same city as my family, and how terrified I am of anything that has the ability to make the most traumatizing noise ever.

Haha! You had me laughing out loud, literally. I, too, share your hatred of anything that large that is classified as an arthropod. Yuck. Hopefully you can move back in to your new place soon without fear. We had a problem with roaches in our previous house (the house backed up to woods) and just had to keep spraying insecticide. On a good note, I love your simple outfit!
That bag is so cute! Great look! Love your site 🙂 Xo, Courtney
