Week In Review

For me, this was the first full week of 2016. You see, I came down with a horrendous bout of the flu last week and was out of commission for an entire work week. This was my first full week of the new year, and I was feeling very superstitious starting off the year on a sick note. I’m proud to say that this was an insanely productive week, and I’m feeling very motivated for what’s to come!

My friend’s and I bought a Groupon for Pendleton Pilates, and we’re finally taking advantage of it! We bought them like five months ago, but I think we all kind of forgot about it until recently. I’ve been wanting to get into pilates and yoga this year, so this was a great motivator to get me started. We took our first class last week (I should have probably sat out because I was sick had to walk out of the class when I started hacking up a lung), and it was a really nice way to unwind and get a core workout. I attempted to go one night this week, but spent 10 minutes looking for a parking spot, and eventually called it quits and went home. I’m one of those people who cringes when I walk in late somewhere, and I figured a quiet and zen pilates class probably wasn’t a place you’d want to stroll in late to. Once my Groupon expires, I’m planning on starting yoga classes. My mom’s gotten really into yoga, and I’m anxious to get started. Are any of you into pilates or yoga? I’d love to hear your experiences!

Since it’s so cold out, I feel like now is a good excuse to brunch on the weekends and stay inside. I’m a huge Bloody Mary fan, and this recipe is packed full of flavor. It has paprika, cayenne, and tons of other spices. The spicier the better, if you ask me! Check out this Mexican Bloody Mary recipe that’ll fulfill all your brunch dreams.

One of my goals this year is to travel more, and Joe and I have already started mapping out where we want to go. After seeing this article from Elle Decor, I now have even more places I want to check off the list. The site rounded up the best themed hotel rooms, and I pretty much want to visit all of them. If I had to pick a favorite, it would easily be the Hot Pink Suite at The Palms in Vegas. It’s Barbie-themed, and I want to move in. The decor is to die for!

I’ve been searching high and low for the perfect pair of over the knee boots. Obviously, the Stuart Weitzman’s would be a dream, but I’m not willing to spend that much on a pair of boots. I recently found the Steve Madden ‘Gorgeous’ boots, and they are basically identical to the Weitzman’s for a fraction of the price (they’re $150)! I think I’m going to pull the trigger this weekend.

Have a good weekend!
