Cold Weather Essentials

If you live in the Midwest, then you know it is cold right now. There’s really no further explanation needed, it’s just plain miserable out there. Me and single digit temperatures do not mix, and I’ve spent my days looking up beaches on Google Images.

Since jetting off to the Gulf Coast for the next three months isn’t in the cards for me right now, I’m going to have to grin and bear it for the time being. Since I like to add a little personality to my winter wardrobe, I sought out some cold weather staples with a little pizzaz.

I can’t believe I still don’t own a pair of Sorel boots. They look so warm, and they’re actually stylish for a winter weather boot. I love that this pair is a gorgeous shade of green and has a faux fur trim.

I have a black faux fur coat, and it’s as chic as it is warm. Honestly, I thought I had plenty of faux fur in my life until I saw this pink option! Imagine it with some skinny black jeans. Done.

Pom pom beanies are all the rage right now, and they add a nice playful touch to the standard hat. I’m thinking I need to add one to my collection. Is anyone else in love with snoods like I am? I have a few different faux fur neck warmers, and they add an instant glam factor to your look. It’s hard to look dressy when it’s this cold, and these are the perfect way to make it happen.

This last one is a game changer. Have you tried SmartWool socks before? I honestly didn’t know anything about them until my boyfriend Joe introduced them to me. He has quite the collection, and he can attest that I always borrow them when I visit. These will protect your toes from even the coldest of temperatures!

What pieces do you wear to stay warm and stylish?
