When it comes to winter shoes, my options are pretty sad. I think since I don’t necessarily like this time of year, I don’t go out of my way to buy pieces for the season. I’d much rather spend my hard earned dough on some cute summer clothes. My opinion on winter shoes was forever changed when I started seeing over-the-knee boots all over the place.
Sure, the Stuart Weitzman Highland boots would be a dream, but I’m not willing to shell out $800 on shoes for my least favorite season. Also, I’m hard on my shoes, and you can see it over time. I think I would be devastated seeing the wear and tear on something that expensive.
If you’ve been wanting to add some over-the-knee boots to your shoe collection, you ladies are going to freak over this pair I’m wearing today! They are identical to the Stuart Weitzman’s I mentioned above, but for a fraction of the price. Yes, these my friends are the Steve Madden ‘Gorgeous’ boots, and they clock in at an amazing $150. After owning them for five days and wearing them on three different occasions, I can confidently say that these are worth every penny.
There’s something about them that makes you walk extra tall and feel subtly sexy. I fluctuate between a 7.5 and 8, but ordered a size 7. After doing extensive research (I blame it on the journalism degree), people said they ran a little big, and I think this size is perfect for me. They also tie in the back, so you can adjust the tightness (which is great for when you’re going bare legged and don’t have anything to hold the material up).
I had kind of forgotten about this tweed mini skirt from Piperlime (R.I.P.), but found that it went perfectly with the boots. Honestly, I’ll probably make a convincing argument that everything goes with the boots now. For being a mini skirt, this one is pretty comfy. Even though it’s almost been a year, I still really miss Piperlime and their amazing selection. Is anyone else as sentimental as me when it comes to their favorite places to shop?
Is anyone else digging the OTK boot trend? I think they’re the perfect way to stay chic and warm!

Thanks Ashley! Coming from the girl who always rocks in the shoe department, that means a lot! 😉
The first things I loved where that chic skirt and gorgeous little purse but now those boots definitely have my attention. Would look great with the current faux fur jacket trend too!
Thanks Chloe! Yes, I actually have an outfit planned with a faux fur coat!
You’ll look totally amaze in it. You already scream gorgeous-in-a-fur-coat, girly x
I definitely miss Piperlime too! Love the boots.
I still haven’t moved on!
Confession:I never bought anything from Piperlime but I LOVED looking at all of the pretty things and especially the shoes! I don’t even understand why it had to close!
The Adored Life
I loved how their site was set up! Very shopper friendly. I’m still depressed about them closing 🙁
First of all, congrats on the boot purchase!! I’m so excited you finally found a pair – I think you’ll probably be as obsessed as I am with them 🙂 Second, I miss Piperlime as well. It was a sad day when they closed shop. Also, you and I are too much alike with the research. I’m a research fiend – I think it drives my family nuts. I have to read about everything from restaurant reviews to clothing reviews. But hey, I think it helps us make much better informed decisions!

Thank you Grace!! I am SUCH a researcher, and it makes me feel better you’re like that, too! Once you start, you can’t stop!
