With Mother’s Day coming up, the recent experience my mom and I got treated to could not have happened at a more perfect time.
We enjoyed a luxurious day of pampering at The Spa at 21c, and I am still in awe of what an incredible day we had. I’ve experienced many different aspects of 21c (Metropole, the Cocktail Terrace, the art gallery) but didn’t know what I was missing out on in the spa!
When we arrived at 21c for our spa day we took the elevator up to the top floor to where the spa is located. The entrance features a beautiful art installation, and then you walk into the most beautiful, naturally lit open-air staircase leading you up to the spa. The walls are filled with an installation by Ryan Wolfe called Field of Grass. The blades that line the walls are activated by wind data and give the feel of a windswept scene. It was mesmerizing watching the blades move up and down, and I admittedly took more than a few boomerangs of the scenery!
Once we made our way up to the spa, we were greeted with glasses of champagne as we filled out our client consultation forms. One of the aspects I really appreciated about the form was that it asked about any allergies you have. I’ve been to other places that never touched on this, which made me super uncomfortable because of my nut allergy. I actually had to leave a massage appointment once because all of the products had ingredients I couldn’t use, so I was instantly at ease knowing 21c would be accommodating. I was also extremely impressed that our aesthetician and masseuse knew all the ingredients in the products they were using and assured me everything was good to go! If you have allergies, you know that peace of mind is priceless.
Since we were having a mother-daughter day, we got our spa treatments done in the couple’s suite. The room was spacious and calming and had a whirlpool tub and steam shower with a skylight. The Spa at 21c offers a variety of packages and services, and we were lucky enough to enjoy the “Treat Yourself” package, which includes a 50-minute massage and the 21c Signature Glow Facial. There’s not much more I can say other than IT WAS INCREDIBLE! My mom and I were in a deliriously happy daze after our treatments and just kept repeating to each other how luxuriously enjoyable the experience was.
I started off with the 21c Signature Glow Facial while my mom got a massage. This was my first time having a facial and I never knew what I was missing out on until now. It was so relaxing and soothing feeling all the different products on my face and neck. Also, the hot towels were a game-changer throughout the process. My skin felt absolutely amazing and refreshed afterward, and even as I’m typing this I’m feeling how soft my face is.
The massage was equally enjoyable, and much needed! I’ve had many massages over the years, and there were simple touches of this massage that I’ve never experienced before and really loved. We had hot towels wrapped around our feet, which I highly recommend everyone experiences at some point! When you’re on your feet all day you really appreciate that kind of pampering! You can also select your level of pressure, which is nice since everyone has different preferences.
My mom and I both agreed that if we had to pick a favorite part of the day we wouldn’t be able to because it was top notch across the board. The spa feels like a luxurious escape from reality, and it felt like we were on vacation! The level of service paired with the art and charm of the building really make The Spa at 21c a world-class pampering experience, and I’m already dreaming of going back! This was the perfect experience to treat my mom to for Mother’s Day and were both feeling refreshed and relaxed!
Thank you to The Spa at 21c for having us!
Olivia,
Your mama is just beautiful. I haven’t seen her since you and Joe were at UD. What a precious and healthy time spent together. Lovely
Thank you so much Patti!
