High St.: My Favorite Place to Shop in Cincinnati

Not only is it hard to put into words how much I adore High St., but it’s also impossible to whittle down just how much the store has to offer. It’s Candyland for anyone who enjoys beautiful things.

Located on the edge of downtown Cincinnati and Pendleton, this stylish destination features everything from home decor, gifts, women’s fashion, jewelry, men’s products, and so much more.

And that’s just the first floor. The second-floor showroom highlights a large selection of furniture, lighting, and rugs. I love walking around the second floor and seeing the beautiful room layouts. This level also features a must-visit recent addition: Rosemary’s, the coffee, cocktail, and wine bar conveniently located inside the store! In addition to an amazing drink selection, they have a nice menu of light bites. My new tradition when shopping at High St. is to grab a drink at Rosemary’s to sip while I peruse the store.

High St. also offers interior design services! When I say High St. is a destination, it truly is. The store’s footprint spans 17,000 square feet! It’s impossible to pop in for just a few minutes, and who’d want that anyway? I could happily spend a full day here!

High St. was established in 2002, and my love affair with the store began in 2010. I drove by their massive black building every day during my college internship at WCPO. My intrigue grew with each drive-by.

Eventually, my mom and I made our way into the store. I wish I could go back to our first time setting foot in High St. because I’m sure my pupils were dilated from the dopamine. We felt like we were in another world. Our first trip to the store was during the holidays. The store is stunning year-round, but there’s something especially magical about High St. at the holidays.

I’ve collected some incredible pieces over the years. There’s this necklace from over ten years ago, and this green wool scarf, which I also bought over ten years ago! I still wear my green scarf religiously, which is a testament to how well it’s held up.

In addition to some fashion favorites, I also have plenty of other treasures I’ve picked up over the years. I found this video that I took a few years ago after a successful visit to High St. I adore these pill coasters, and the petite cheeseboard is so sleek. We brought both to NYC!

This charm bracelet was a find during my mom and I’s annual holiday High St. jaunt!

For any of the ladies reading this, you must add High St. to your list of fashion and jewelry destinations in Cincinnati. Their women’s selection continues to expand, and they have an incredible offering of brands I haven’t seen anywhere else.

They carry unique, interesting pieces and I usually don’t leave empty handed. One of my favorite things when I shop is that feeling that I’m discovering something new- almost like a treasure hunt. That’s how I feel each time I shop at High St.!

During my latest visit to the store, I fell in love with this leopard print maxi skirt. I couldn’t stop staring at it. So I went back the next day and bought it. My mom and I couldn’t get over how well it fit and how well the skirt moves when it’s on. It’s so feminine. Of course I had to wear it out that night.

I attempted to take a video of my look on our way out the door, but the lighting wasn’t working with me. Instead I present you with this awkward still I grabbed from the video. Just imagine that the skirt is effortlessly flowing.

Whether you’re local to the Cincinnati area, or are passing through town, plan a visit to High St. I guarantee you’ll find something you love!
