Denim isn’t always considered the most feminine item of clothing but anytime I wear this denim skirt I feel like it instantly adds a dose of femininity to my look. I know the days of wearing this skirt are numbered for the year so I’ve been trying to wear it as much as possible before my legs are covered up until next April.
I wore this fitted red off the shoulder top from J.Crew to inject a bit of color to my look. Honestly, I feel like red and denim complement each other really well and give off preppy Americana vibes.
Madewell Loafers
A new item I recently added to the closet are these Madewell loafers. I’ve had a new pair of flat shoes in the back of my mind for quite some time but never devoted too much time to looking for a pair. I’m very particular about my flat, closed-toe shoes and like a simple, clean style.
I came across these lovely brown leather loafers on the Madewell website and fell in love. When wearing flats, I tend to lean toward a pointed toe because I think it looks a bit more polished. This had the pointed toe I wanted and the simple, sleek design. I had to return something at the mall and popped into Madewell to see if they had the loafers in stock. Luckily for me they were available in store and had my size. Score!
Transitional fashion can be a bit tough this time of year because the weather can fluctuate quickly. That’s why I love either a long pant and short sleeve top or vice versa, which is what I went with here. That way you can stay temperate but not get too cold or hot when the Midwest weather strikes!
