Checkered Dress | Sock Booties (similar, similar) | Milly Handbag (similar)
This checkered dress is an old favorite that I don’t ever see myself getting rid of. I bought it way back in 2013 from Forever 21 of all places!
Forever 21 was my go-to shopping destination in college when I wanted a cute new outfit without breaking the bank. I actually still have a couple of pieces from Forever 21 that are a good five years old that are still in my closet. While I don’t really shop there anymore I appreciate and love some of the gems I was able to score there over the years.
The Checkered Dress
This dress is an easy piece to throw on and the styling possibilities are endless. I’ve worn it in the past with colorful blazers but decided to go for something a bit edgier with these sock booties. I purchased these booties last winter but never got around to wearing them. Although I’m not pumped for summer to end I am excited to start wearing these since they seem to be pretty comfortable and instantly dress up any outfit.
I’ve been eager to explore the murals in today’s post since they were completed this summer. We have so many great murals around Cincinnati thanks to ArtWorks, a local nonprofit that trains and employs youth and talent to create art and make a difference in the community. Anytime I pass an ArtWorks mural I instantly get a smile on my face. Each one is completely unique and makes you appreciate the creative talent people have.
I shot this particular outfit in Bolivar Alley in Pendleton. Pendleton is one of my favorite neighborhoods in the city, and it’s currently undergoing a massive revitalization. I’ve been working with multiple real estate clients in the neighborhood recently, and you can definitely feel an energy when you’re there! These murals were spearheaded by five artists with Cincinnati roots to work with a group of young apprentices. Not surprisingly, they turned out beautifully!
